This page explains what information Small Host Handbook (“we”) collects when you visit smallhosthandbook.com, and what we do with it. In short: very little, and we don’t sell it.
What we collect
When you read the site
- Server logs. Our web host, DreamHost, keeps standard server logs: your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. These are used to run and secure the site, and DreamHost handles them under its own privacy policy.
- No analytics or advertising trackers. We don’t run Google Analytics, ad networks, tracking pixels or social media embeds. If that changes, we’ll update this page first.
- No cookies for readers. WordPress only sets cookies for people logged in to manage the site. Comments are currently turned off.
When you email us
- Our contact address is coming soon. When it’s live and you write to us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you include. We use it only to reply and to fix any problem you report. We don’t add you to a mailing list.
- Email to that address will be forwarded to our inbox by Cloudflare’s Email Routing service, which handles it under Cloudflare’s own privacy policy.
Links to other sites
Our guides link to platforms and tools such as Airbnb and software vendors. Once you click through, that site’s own privacy policy applies, and it may set its own cookies. If a link is marked (affiliate), the vendor may use a cookie to record that you came from us. See our affiliate disclosure.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell, rent or trade personal information.
- We don’t knowingly collect information from children. The site is for adults who run rentals.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you (in practice, only emails you’ve sent us), or ask us to delete it. Once our contact address is live, email us and we’ll respond within 30 days.
Changes
If we add anything that collects more information (for example comments, a newsletter or analytics), we’ll update this page and the date at the top before we turn it on.
